Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental

Just going into the Mandarin Oriental brings back memories of when hotels were independently owned in the days of when it was the Hyde Park Hotel and really not too well known for its food, that was until Marco Pierre White took over and really set the president of having top notch chefs attached to hotels.

But The Mandarin Oriental seems to be one of the luckiest hotels in london at the moment, not only do the have the best PR company looking after them, Anne Scott Associates but they have managed to pull off a culinary coup the likes that have not been seen before in London.

Firstly, Bar Boulud opened to a fan-fare and is now on speed dial of what used to be called the jet- set. TPT has a table reserved every night for 8pm and, if at quarter passed she is a no show they release it.

Food inevitably is spot on , rustic but presented in a way that Nanny might think a bit showy offy but then again what she did with a spotted dick wasn't worth knowing. Bar Boulud I hope will not be a flash in the pan as it truly deserves to have its place up there., with the best of them.
