doughnut peaches




Their proper name is the Saturn peache, they are smaller and flatter than a regular peach. Their skin is yellow and red. They are usually less fuzzy than ordinary peaches. Harvest Season
They are harvested in late spring through the end of summer. And much easier to eat.

Taste

They are sweeter than regular peaches, with a hint of almond.

Other Names

They are known by many other names, including doughnut peach, paraguayo peach, pan tao peach, and saucer peach.

History

They were introduced into the U.S. from China in 1869. These "flat" peaches gained popularity in the 1990s.
